Shady’s back with Big Red.

LeSean McCoy will not be returning to Philadelphia. The Eagles’ all-time leading rusher is instead signing with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter.

McCoy’s one-year contract is reportedly worth up to $4 million with $3 million guaranteed.

Bleeding Green Nation downplayed the Eagles’ rumored interest in McCoy earlier today:

The organization seems to like their current quartet of Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders, Darren Sproles, and Corey Clement. It’s hard to see where McCoy fits in the picture when you consider his playing time and contract desires. [...] And so while it’s fun to think about getting the band back together with both DeSean Jackson and McCoy returning to Philly, I don’t think Shady is making a return to the Eagles. I’d say there’s like a 10% chance the Eagles sign McCoy.

By signing with the Chiefs, McCoy is reunited with his former head coach: Andy Reid. The Eagles drafted McCoy with the No. 53 overall pick back when Reid was still coaching Philly back in 2009.

McCoy, now 31, is coming off the worst season of his career so we’ll see if he’s able to bounce back in Kansas City.
